Week 1 – Guest room – fall 2024 One room challenge

Those of you that are following along know that this is my second time signing up for ORCAT. I learnt a lot doing the first one. I will talk about that here and also about the room I am updating. To Begin with

I want to tell you all what i learnt last time from my pantry update. See spring ORC.

Pick an easy project for your first time.

I panicked so much with site updates, instagram and also keeping up with the room changes.

Plan all the weeks ahead.

Dont have too many last minute projects.

If you have last minute projects, do it at the end when you have more time.

Inspo images and similar

Surprisingly, I just wanted to use a french English blue for the guest room for the longest time.

So, I decided on using borrowed light from F&B and color matched it at Sherwin Williams and just gave it a go.

I have tried to pull some inspo and linked F&b site where this paint has been used.

This screen image looks a lot darker than the one i color matched. Consider it a lighter tone of this.

My space and the Plans for it

I absolutely wanted to incorporate a lavendar shade. More on the reasoning later.

Moodboard

Below are my 2 options. Both have different lamps and dressers. The main dresser is a darker blue rather than RH version.

I need to buy headboard supplies.

I want to do an accent paint- still deciding.

I am planning to buy the ottoman, pillows and the lamps. i am not sure about the lamps right now.

The fabric for the headboard is thrifted obviously.

I have a decent plan in place and i have 2 major projects to do other than paint.

Considering me, i have a gallery wall planned.

For now, I need to start paint.
